Linksys WRT330N Wireless-N Gigabit Gaming Router

Buy Cheap Linksys WRT330N Wireless-N Gigabit Gaming Router

Buy Low Price From Here Now

"The Wireless-N Gigabit Gaming Router is really four devices in one box. First, there's the Wireless Access Point, which lets you connect to the network without wires. There's also a built-in 4-port full-duplex 10/100/1000 Switch to connect your wired-Ethernet devices together at up to gigabit speeds. The Router function ties it all together and lets your whole network share a high-speed cable or DSL Internet connection. We've also included a Network Optimizer that applies various Quality of Service (QoS) techniques to your network traffic to make sure that time-sensitive applications like online and local network gaming run smoothly. It automatically determines what data is time-sensitive and what isn't, and prioritizes delivery of that data to its destination, ensuring the best-possible performance for the various types of data that go through your network. The Access Point built into the Router uses the very latest wireless networking technology, Wireless-N (draft 802.11n). By overlaying the signals of multiple radios, Wireless-N's ""Multiple In, Multiple Out"" (MIMO) technology multiplies the effective data rate. Unlike ordinary wireless networking technologies that are confused by signal reflections, MIMO actually uses these reflections to increase the range and reduce ""dead spots"" in the wireless coverage area. The robust signal travels farther, maintaining wireless connections up to 4 times farther than standard Wireless-G. With Wireless-N, the farther away you are, the more speed advantage you get. It works great with standard Wireless-G and -B equipment, but when both ends of the wireless link are Wireless-N, the router can increase the throughput even more by using twice as much radio band, yielding speeds up to 12 times as fast as standard Wireless-G. To help protect your data and privacy, the Router can encode all wireless transmissions with industrial-strength 128-bit encryption.

"Really bad if you have VoIP" 2009-03-10
By Manoj Khiani (San Jose, CA United States)
I purchased this product a year ago to upgrade to the Wireless-N draft spec and also get gigabit switching capabilities. This product sucks.

I use it as part of a setup where I have Vonage. Thus, I need the router to manage call quality. I get choppy calls and frequently, the calls drop altogether.

It appears that Linksys has stopped making this product and the most recent firmware updates were over a year ago. Many people on forums complain about this model and I would avoid it if I were you.

Best thing I've done with it is dumb it down to act as a Wireless-N access point in my house.

"Not for the technically inept" 2008-08-21
By D. Perez
This router is awesome! Once I had it setup it immediately gave me an open NAT for XBox Live. Speed is good and the only major hurdle was setting it up. There are some that have said that it won't connect to the internet or it is "sketchy" at best.

Here is something you may not know. By default, Dynamic Routing is turned off. This is because this is a gaming router so you are expected to create your own routing table. If you turn Dynamic Routing on then this router will most likely work wonders for you.

 "Not worth the price" 2008-08-05
By RockyRacoon (Washington State, USA)
I've had this router for about 9 months now and it works great with my XBOX 360 using a wired connection. However, I upgraded from the Linksys WRT54GS Wireless-G Broadband Router with SpeedBooster and don't notice any significant speed or signal strength improvements that justify the $200 price tag. Now I'm looking at "upgrading" to another router...and will likely go with the D-Link DGL-4500 Xtreme N Dualband Draft 802.11n Gaming Router instead.

"Great while it lasted, 1.5 years later must be replaced." 2008-08-03
By Dash (Wading River, NY USA)
This router worked really well for quite some time. The wireless strengths is admirable and virtually the same speed as the wired connection. It worked well for a year and a half, but now has some serious problems. I've checked out everything else in the "picture" of my network and I am 100% certain that 1) The router is slowing my internet connection by 60%, seemingly capping downstream at 5000kbps. Plugged into the cable modem, itself, flawless 15000kbps connection. 2) A dozen daily short disconnects caused by my printer being connected via ethernet, removing it solved the problem. 3) Unable to even upgrade the firmware anymore, as the page will allow me to select the file but responds with absolutely nothing. So basically, my router is completely failing at it's job. Now I'm still within the replacement window, but this is not exactly the most comfortable situation to be in - How long is this going to take, and how long is the rest of my family besides me not going to be able to use the internet? So now on top of my connection woes, my family is gonna have to go a week or two without internet. I'm not too happy with this device, which is certainly more expensive than other routers, failing in less than two years. It's just not right, so 3 stars. That, and their tech-support is horrible. They don't even have this router anymore, and when the router they told me they'd replace it with was a WRT310N, a router worth $60 less than the price I paid for the WRT330N and no external antenna. I got pissed and demanded a choice in the matter if I'm going to be "downgraded", and made sure to tell them I wanted a WRT54GL instead, as I know the custom firmware will do its job and give me a good router. Look elsewhere..

 "Great router" 2008-07-22
By Javier Dominguez (New York, NY USA)
I wanted a draft N router to upgrade my "G" network, but it took me a while to take action. This was mainly due to the reviews the Linksys routers were getting. I had Linksys and wanted to keep within the brand, since my experience with it has always been a good one. Finally, I decided to make the switch and chose the gaming one because of the Gigabit connection. At that time (a year ago,) I didn't think the data-lynk version was a better choice. Today, I think I would go that route instead.

The installation was easy and quick; basically, similar to the one I performed on the old Linksys G router. The network was up and running without any problems. My laptop has an Intel N card and connected with no problem. It actually has a faster connection wirelessly than with the Ethernet card (10/100.)

I'm very happy with the purchase, and once resolved the problems of the kids' computer connection (which ended up with a Linksys WUSB300N Wireless-N USB Network Adapter,) the network has worked with no problems at all for the last 14 months.

The only good thing I got for waiting was a better price, since it dropped a little when I bought it. But I have to say, I recommend this product without hesitation. My next router will be a Linksys N draft with VPN.

"802.11a simply does not stay connected" 2004-01-31
By Joseph N. Dassaro (Middle Tennessee, USA)
I am using the WAP51ab with an IBM T-41 with built in 802.11a and b capability. The 802.11a will not stay connected with this WAP for more than a couple of hours. My laptop is within line of sight of the WAP at all times.

To solve the problem, I am required to shutdown the WAP for about 30 seconds. When I turn the WAP back on, it instantly connects to the laptop without any user intervention (which means that the laptop is working fine).

Followed all of the Linksys suggestions without any luck. Unfortunately, I need to revert back to the WAP11 or choose another brand.

Recommendation: DO NOT BUY this WAP unless you do not mind rebooting it a couple of times trhoughout the day.

 "Linksys WAP51AB A Winner!" 2003-04-06
By (Hurst, TX United States)
I received my WAP51AB on a Thursday. Couldn't get a DHCP lease even though the laptop connected up to the WAP. Linksys support personnel were wonderful, I emailed them with what was happening and they sent troubleshooting techniques back. I was in the middle of working through their instructions when I mentioned to a friend I was having problems. He came over, found out that I had a MAC bridge between my two internal NICS (wireless and Ethernet), disabled the MAC bridge, and bingo, I received a DHCP lease from my router. Since then I've enabled the WEP encryption, and have been happily browsing the internet, printing out documents, and just generally annoying my husband with bringing my laptop with me everywhere. On occasion, after the laptop has been in hibernate mode, I have to disable the wireless connection, and re-enable it, it picks up immediately. As my friend said, this set up isn't rocket science, it's pretty simple. The Linksys support staff even reviewed my network diagram, corrected my proposed solution, and offered future assistance. That's pretty good service, and it was all done over the weekend. I really recommend this product and all Linksys products.

I had the same problem, but then I took some time and adjusted where the unit was placed, (made sure it was away from interference Power supplies, monitor, ect) and placed it on a shelf away from my computer equipment and my coverage got much better, I think a downstairs bathroom only gets bad reception but Hey I should not be on from there anyhow :-)

By James L. Smith (Pleasant Prairie, WI)
Great wireless access point/router. The A wireless band offers a more stable connection than the 2.4 Ghz B band. With bleed-over from portable 2.4ghz phones I do not recommend the B band unless you don't mind getting interference from your phones. The dual band allows you to turn on or off the B band, for when the friends come over with their cheap B cards and want to do gaming. And now that Cisco owns Linksys you will get award winning service with you Linksys products. Many pluses with only a few minuses.

"Will not work with DHCP networks" 2003-03-11
By Joe Nuxoll (San Jose, California)
The documentation fails to mention the fact that this router not only requires that it be configured with a static IP address (no DHCP support), but that any 802.11a or 802.11b client connecting to your network is required to use a static IP address as well. Basically, you can't use DHCP with this access point - which for all intents and purposes makes this an expensive piece of junk plastic... but... I did return it for the 802.11g access point (Linksys WAP54G) which works perfectly.

"Works very well, but can be difficult to set up" 2007-05-12
By John D. Meyer (Augusta, GA USA)
I have purchased and used several of these Internet cams both at home and at work. They work very well once set up, but they may require highly technical skills and knowledge to set up depending on your network environment. I like them because they have a window that shows the IP address they have picked up. This is a problem I encountered with the newer version. Without an IP address window on the device, I would have to search the network and hope the software is able to pick up the device. The software works well in very small networks, but on enterprise networks it can get confused and sometimes can not find the camera.

Customer support is easy to reach online, but not very helpful if you get a not-easy problem. Wired camera at that price has much much better video.

I live in a not-huge NYC apartment with solid plaster walls. The new antennas extended the range of my Linksys cable modem by maybe 10-15 feet, enough to allow my PC -- but not my wife's Mac -- to get service in a corner room that had previously been out of reach. A modest improvement, but (barely) worth the modest price of a set of second-hand antennas.

"Look cool, but do they really work?" 2008-08-31
By Zulfiqar Ali Naushad (Saudi Arabia)
I can't say I've noticed a huge difference, but there is a slight difference.

Other than that they work and fit perfectly, but due to their heft, the router becomes a bit unbalanced.

If you load Tomato firmware or DD-WRT on your WRT54GL router (which this product is used with), then you can increase your radio transmit power.

That in conjunction with these antenna do have a noticeable difference in range and signal quality.

Not sure how well it would have worked if I had a bunch of walls in the way.

I am happy with them

 "Cool Lynksys WRT100" 2008-12-03
By J. Henderlite
This is an excellent wireless router - much better than the DLink unit I used to have or the 2-Wire integrated unit that I had with a previous DSL service provider. The coverage in my house is very good. There is one room in particular that I work in sometimes that the Dlink wouldn't work at all and the 2-Wire was hit-and-miss. The WRT100 comes through with very good or excellent connectivity. The Easy Link software that came with the router didn't work well but I downloaded a later version from Linksys and it worked very well. It gives you a graphical view of your network and correctly identified most of the devices on my network. You can print out your network configuration with all the IP addresses which should help putting it back together if you have a device fail or mysteriously quit talking like my HP network printer does occaisionally. The setup was very easy and I had everything up and running in very short order. All-in-all, great product!

"Fast, Stable and Connected at 150 mbps!!" 2008-08-05
By A. Lasam (Burbank, CA United States)
After 8 years using an old linksys B router, I dicided to upgrade to a faster wireless router. I choose the WRT100 because I was curious about the MIMO and it unoffically supported 80211n.

The setup up was very easy, took less than 5 minutes configuring the router's pppoe to connect to my ATT DSL.

Four laptops, macbook pro, macbook, dell inspiron 8200 running linux, and an old G4 powerbook, and one pc desktop, compaq pressario were all soon connected.

The range was very impressive and actually was able to pickup a strong signal from one block away. When using an n wifi card, the connection speed was about 70 as compared to a 54 when using a standard g wifi card. My macs have 80211n atheros cards and connected at speed greater than 54mbp at 70mbps. If you pair with a Linksys brand wifi card that supports mimo your speed would be much higher. My compaq desktop connected at 150mpbs.

When paired with the Linksys WUSB100 usb adapter on my compaq pc desktop, the connection speed was at 150mbps, much faster than a superG speed of 108mpb.

The WRT100 is actually the same unit as the newer WRT110. The internal circuitry is the same. Only difference is the updated outer casing. The firmware for the WRT110 can be used for the wrt100. I have updated the firmware of the wrt100 with the latest wrt110 firmware 104 which enables the "wifi protected setup" feature. Now the "reserved button" located on the top of the unit as a function and is enabled after updating to the 104 firmware. So now with the updated firmware, the WRT100 is now an actual WRT110!!!

I'm extremely satisfied with the WRT100, a fast and stable router.

 "Solid Wireless Router" 2008-03-18
By Robert Urban (Columbus, OH)
Before this Linksys, I owned a Belkin, which was a total pile of garbage. So to me, this is the best router ever built. Setup was fairly straightforward; they recommend that you use their CD installer, but you can configure it through the router's IP address instead (for more advanced users; details are in the owner's manual). I like that there is support for Wireless a/b/g and Wireless-N, and the signal strength is pretty strong all around the house. Whether this is because of the MIMO antenna or not, I'm not sure, but it seems to output a strong signal. I should mention that the first unit I purchased just magically stopped powering up, but I was able to return it back to the store for a new one, and I have had no problems since. I suspect that there was something wrong with the AC adapter. Other than this, I would recommend this router to anyone that wants Wireless-N at a reasonable price.

This WiFi range extender antenna is a flat, lightweight, and directional WiFi antenna - meaning that all of the signal is sent & received in one direction. These are excellent performers when you know the direction that you want to send and/or receive a signal from; examples are a laptop that is distant from a router and needs to point the antenna in one specific direction, or a router that is positioned against a wall and only wants the signal to be projected forward. We sell several models of panel antennas ranging from 3 to 5x power.
This high gain model with an range of up to 3 miles (5 km,) depending on the WiFi device connected, is our strongest and is shipped complete with a sturdy 7" (18cm) extendable tripod and a 40" (1m) RP-SMA WiFi pigtail. For permanent installations, this antenna can also be mounted on a pole. Adapters for most WiFi devices and extension cables are available in our store.

These antennas are custom designed and manufactured in the USA to exacting specifications for optimal WiFi performance. They come with a Lifetime Warranty and your satisfaction is guaranteed or you can have a 100% refund.

 "Good product." 2009-04-25
By Joseph Benjamin Redding III (Elon, NC)
This antenna works great for me. I hooked it up to the Engenius 600mw pci card.

The ignorant guy who gave this antenna a bad review obviously didn't know what this was. It is an antenna, you can't hook it up to your laptop unless you have a wireless usb adapter with a removable rp-sma antenna. Why would you buy something you don't know how to use and then give it a bad review when you realize you don't know what you are doing? It is not the antenna's fault your dumb.

"Nothing's wrong with this item." 2008-10-26

Anyone who gives this less than 4 stars is ignorant. It's a quality product and it will work for you if you know what you're doing or learn to know what to do.

 "Not user Friendly" 2008-08-26
By Adam (Iraq)
My wife bought this for me so I can receive internet on this deployment and it comes in this small box. It looks easy to connect and figure out on the page but when you get it, the pigtail thing that I'm thinking they are talking about does not connect to anything on my laptop. It comes with no instructions to tell you what it is, how to connect it or what items you need to make this contraption work. It's not like I'm new to networking but this thing sure does make me feel that way. Can someone help me out with this issue.
